For this video, I was tasked with explaining how Campbell Ewald executed the alternate reality game Project Architeuthis and what it achieved. Since the video was an entry for an Effies award, it had to meet very specific guidelines set by the Effies committee. It became a battle between what information was most important. What to keep vs what to lose. There was far too much information to put it all in a reasonable length. In the end, the final piece strikes a balance between a broad overview and diving into details when more explanation is necessary. I molded a video out of unrelated footage and motion design to tell the story of both the game and the results of Project Architeuthis. Update! This video won two Golden Effies for Campbell Ewald’s Project Architeuthis campaign!
